Obtaining & Measuring Success

I stumbled across this article and just had to share it.  I always try to explain to my dancers that I want more than anything to see them succeed.  Success in my eyes is measured not by trophies and awards (although those are always nice to win!) but by how you grow as a dancer and a person.  I know you are growing as a dancer when I see your confidence soar, when I see you making decisions that are best for not just you but for your team as a whole, when I see you lifting up other dancers instead of comparing yourself to them, when I see you accept corrections and criticism gracefully.

This article was published in 2013, 7 years ago now, but now more than ever, the lessons touched upon in this letter ring loud and clear.
